5 Reasons Why We Use BufferApp to Tweet

Twitter with BufferApp
Twitter microblogging is flourishing nowadays. Twitter channel is no longer a luxury but a must for each social media person, company or brand. Freemake isn’t an exception: we use Twitter to share our latest news, tips and tricks and to interact with our users. Though the new Twitter interface is nicely-looking and self-explanatory, we prefer tweeting via BufferApp and here are the reasons why.

Reason 1. Hit the best time for tweeting

As social media experts point out, people most actively Twitter three times a day – from 9 to 11 AM (when they start working), from 1 to 3 PM (when they get back to work after lunch), and 9-11 PM (when they surf the Net at home). These are the periods when people read their Twitter thread, click and retweet posts. To reach a large audience, we also try to adjust our tweeting time to high activity periods of our followers. BufferApp ideally suits for this task: it lets us set the exact time for tweets to be posted, allocate tweets throughout the day and establish the desirable days of the week for tweeting.

Reason 2. Tweet on holidays and weekends

Like most companies we don’t work on weekends and public holidays, but our Twitter does. Thanks to Buffer, we can add multiple tweets to the queue (up to 10 for free) and be sure that they will be posted while we’re out of office. Still we prefer not to queue time-sensitive information and post it asap.

Reason 3. Buffer from a web page

There’s a free Buffer extension for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari which helps add tweets to Buffer directly from a web page. We don’t have to go to Buffer website each time when we want to compose a tweet – with the extension it’s possible to do this through the right-button menu. The link is already here and shortened.

Reason 4. Watch real-time stats

Unfortunately, Twitter doesn’t provide any analytics. So we use Buffer to measure social engagement from our tweets: clicks, retweets, mentions and favorites. Thus we can better understand what kind of content did well and make alterations to our Twitter strategy.

Reason 5. Discover more Twitter tools

Buffer has a list of recommended Twitter tools. Thanks to it, we discovered ifttt and SocialBro. ifttt lets perform actions when something noteworthy happens, e.g. the person who starts following you receives a welcome message. The tool has its shortcomings (no @mentions, retweet signals), still I like the idea and hope that the app will be improved with the lapse of time. SocialBro is a good app to better analyze Twitter community: location, language, profile specs, activity, competitors, etc. Though the tool is a bit difficult to master quickly, it really brings a lot of helpful stats for Twitter account managers.
These are the things we love about BufferApp. Still there are some features which we are lacking, such as image posting and @replies. That’s not a problem – we can easily publish photos and interact with our followers via standard Twitter interface.
UPDATE : Now BufferApp allows users to add photos to the scheduled tweets: either in web interface or browser addon.
Buffer is also available for Facebook and Linkedin accounts, but still we use it to tweet only. This web app is among our favorite ones and we strongly recommend to try it!
